Your Opportunity at ARC'TERYX:


In this newly created role of Product Impact Specialist, reporting to the Director of Sustainability, you will be responsible for creating and building the capacity for Arc'teryx product teams to understand, measure and make decisions which ultimately reduce the environmental impact of the products we put out into the market.

You will identify the tools we need to effectively quantify product environmental impact and provide onboarding, training and support to teams in their use.

This work will be building crucial capacity for our product organization in our journey towards circular product creation and a lower impact mode of operation.

The Arc'teryx sustainability team is small, mighty and integrated into business functions for the highest impact.

We have a core team of passionate experts responsible for developing strategy, programming, and measuring progress against our company sustainability goals.

We work from within our own team of Supply Chain as well as with key partners and teams throughout the organization to develop and implement strategy, programming, metrics and tools into how we do business.


If you were the Product Impact Specialist now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Determining the appropriate strategy for product impact measurement and implementing that strategy across the product organization.
  • Defining the options and recommending a tool to internal teams (design, materials, product development, sustainability) to measure and understand product impact.
  • Collaborating with crossfunctional stakeholders to build the processes for Arc'teryx product teams for how and when to develop and make use of product impact information.
  • Partnering with our environmental data analyst to ensure our product impact insights can support our climate data collection, reporting and strategy and vice versa.
  • Developing evergreen training materials as well as leading workshops and training sessions to build capacity related to environmental impact.

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Collaborating with internal and external experts to establish means of measuring the impact of repaired or resold to support demonstrating impact of circular business models.
  • Supporting in the development of roadmaps to achieve materials and circularity goals.

Are you our next Product Impact Specialist?:

  • You have a degree or diploma in environmental science, sustainability, product development, apparel design or other relevant field.
  • You have 3+ years' handson technical experience quantifying product impact and/or using product impact tools in a consumer goods, apparel or footwear setting.
  • You are an independent worker, exceptionally organized, operate with integrity, and maintain personal accountability.
  • You are highly collaborative with demonstrated effectiveness at building strong partnerships inside and outside your core team.
  • You have handson, technical knowhow and enjoy using it.
  • You are engaged and passionate about our product and industry environmental impacts and are committed to not only identifying solutions but driving change.
  • You have demonstrated experience developing training and educational materials and sessions.
  • You have strong communication and presentation skills.
  • You thrive in a fastmoving environment.
  • You have a willingness to prototype and learn by doing
  • You are driven by curiosity and learning about the needs of a range of business partners
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, with an unwavering commitment to seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
