In this role, you wear several hats; part consultant, part coach and part driver.

Focusing 6-24 months out, you will lead the advancement of the compensation to strengthen the pay for performance culture while improving team member engagement and making TELUS Retail an employer of choice in a very competitive employment market.


You will also be responsible for the exciting and strategic transformation of TELUS retail workstyles aimed to deliver flexibility for our team members while capitalizing on the business growth opportunities in the communities that we operate in.

You will succeed by leaning on your pragmatic strengths, personable skills and no-nonsense leadership qualities. Your counsel is equal parts logic, analysis and strategy. You have a natural curiosity and appreciate continuous improvement, while harvesting learnings to enhance our business and team.

  • Lead a team of team of highly performing team members responsible for TRL Workstyle Transformation and the Compensation & Rewards program
  • Provide thought leadership, market intelligence and flawless change management aimed to enhance team member engagement while achieving strong business outcomes
  • Drive timely decisions on enhancements to the engagement of our frontline team members while ensuring all relevant stakeholders are engaged
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset: continually looking for opportunities to increase the ROI of our resources, ways to improve the internal client experience and drive a culture of appreciation

Qualifications:


  • Leader: demonstrated success building, leading and supporting a highly engaged and high performance team that epitomizes fair process, entrepreneurial spirit, measured risk taking, and innovation
  • Consultant: exceptional collaboration, relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills, including compelling storytelling and presentation to executive audiences, and advance stakeholder management
  • Analyst: strong business and financial acumen, including experience using financial modeling skills to create sound business cases
  • Problem solver: the fundamentals of taking a problem, examining the challenge, building recommendations and executing on those recommendations
  • Compelling communicator: clear, concise and influential in all aspects of communication
  • Big thinker: Strategic, critical and creative
  • Driver: proven track record leading and delivering multiple, complex initiatives simultaneously from creation to tactical implementation
  • Decisive: grounded in logic and data with a strong ability to block distractions
  • Influential: Demonstrated experience influencing senior leaders including Directors, VPs and Senior VPs
  • Change Management: Proven experience in implementing strategies for effecting change, controlling change and helping people to adapt to change
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Great-to-haves:


  • Experience in managing large scale operational and/or retail programs
  • Experience in a financial or analytical environment, including budget management
