    Primary Processing Division – Maintenance /
    Sunrise Farms is a group of companies with primary focus in the poultry industry.

    From our hatcheries to our "ready to eat" state of the art cooking facilities we service customers in the retail, food service and industrial sectors.

    We are proud of our support of the Canadian farm as well as our investment in the latest equipment and technologies at our facilities across Canada.

    Our test kitchens have the most current cooking equipment replicating that used in commercial establishments, to facilitate precision testing. We are proud of our long-standing partnerships with family-owned Canadian chicken farmers to produce high quality products.

    This position, based in Winnipeg, is to support and work with the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager, to mentor and coach shift maintenance personnel.

    Perform safe operation and maintenance of all utilities equipment such as:

    ammonia refrigeration plant, all Freon type refrigeration units, heating, air conditioning units, air compressors, boiler, water heating equipment, air make up units, air handling units and other accessories.

    Provide direction on all operational-related projects to meet capability, output, facility, and systems requirements, increase efficiencies, support safety, validation, and meet goals and objectives that contribute to the overall success of the organization.

    Assist in the negotiations of service and contractual agreements and monitor performance of contractors and service personnel for repairs and installations as needed.

    Participate in departmental strategic planning, assuring all above functions support branch operations as well as corporate goals and objectives.

    Keep and maintain building firefighting equipment such as fire sprinklers and fire extinguishers.
    Operate and maintain the waste water treatment plant as compliance of the city waste water regulations.

    Knowledge in mechanical engineering, project management, facilities management, systems engineering, equipment maintenance, design & drafting, computer applications, and an ability to provide superior leadership skills.

    Management of multiple projects and excellent communication skills to interact with all operational departments.
    Responsible for coaching, mentoring and provide technical support and training i.e. Accountable for enforcement of company health and safety policies on the production line(s).
    Report any gas and sewer releases to the appropriate authorities, including the plant manager.
