Acuren is currently recruiting and Immigration and Compliance Program Manager
to support our Canadian Regions. The role helps drive a high performing culture that supports Acuren's vision and values. If you are seeking a dynamic environment with opportunities for individual growth and learning, this is for you.


This position will be based in Canada, but will be remotely worked


Working directly for the CHRO and indirectly for the Regional Manager, the position delivers support, advice and coaching to the regional leadership team in the delivery of programs that drive regional objectives and business results.


The following outlines the responsibilities of the position:

Supporting organizational immigration needs by:


  • Providing detailed guidance to Managers and Employees requiring work permits to perform crossborder work
  • Reviewing and assessing documentation to determine applicants' eligibility and identify any deficiencies
  • Gathering and organizing data to prepare final submission packages
  • Advising employees regarding steps to obtain work permits at border crossings
  • Keeping up to date with changes to laws, regulations, manuals, policies, procedures and processes, and communicating those within the broader team
  • Maintaining and overseeing all immigrationrelated communication with employees
  • Liaising with immigration counsel to address more complex immigration issues

Advising Managers on a wide range of HR issues including:

  • Employment related legislation and HR policies, procedures and programs
  • Conducting performance appraisals, providing positive or negative performance feedback, recommending employee recognition
  • Administering compensation and benefits related programs and policies
  • Providing advice and support related to miscellaneous leaves of absence and returnstowork
  • Facilitating the effective investigation and resolution of code of conduct or other behavioral complaints

Position Qualification

  • Postsecondary Human Resources education
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related human resources compliance/work permit experience
  • Immigration Consultant Certification and licensing with the ICCRC, or significant progress towards certification
  • Human Resources functions and processes
  • Employment related legislation across multiple jurisdictions
  • Extensive familiarity with work permit processes and related legislation
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively deal with individuals with diverse personalities and cultural backgrounds;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Power Point, Project
