    Description
    Matrix is hiring a Certified Rigger for an exciting, long-term job in Halifax, NS. We offer additional overtime and wage parity for this position. This position also offers weekends off to allow for work/life balance. The Riggers will be working indoors in a controlled environment. The pay rate has increased to $43/hr. Our client has been building quality vessels for over 50 years and has been at the forefront of Canadian shipbuilding for over 130 years.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving.
    • Select gear such as cables, pull-eyes, and winches, according to load weights and sizes using chain fall and other equipment.
    • Tilt, dip, and turn suspending loads to maneuver over, under, or around obstacles.
    • Signal or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and materials.

    Requirements:
    • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
    • A pre-employment physical is required.
    • A background check completed by the employer.

    Qualifications:
    • Experience in Rigging.
    • Completed Rigging Training Courses.
