Supervisor/Outreach Coordinator


This is a combined position of supervisory and community outreach services to Indigenous girls, women, 2S+ people who are victims of violence.

The Supervisor/Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Sohkisiwin Family Violence Prevention Program (FVPP). The supervisor will support all positions on the team and share wisdom and knowledge with the team and community.

This position is responsible for ensuring the outcomes of the project is being met through the recruitment, supervision, evaluation of team members and evaluation of the program.

The supervisor is the connection between the FVPP service sector, through participation in working groups and committees.

The Supervisor will bring a voice on behalf of Indigenous victims in advocacy and to the FVPP service sector, sharing knowledge across all FVPP programs, thereby creating a ripple effect in creating a support circle of resources for victims of Family/Domestic/Intimate Partner violence.


The supervisor will carry a small caseload up to a maximum of 5 clients who will be supported in accessing relevant community services.

As the supervisor this position will be responsible to provide leadership to 2 Assertive Outreach Workers, 1 Community Outreach Support Worker, and 1 Facilitator.

This position is responsible for the hiring and termination of employees however, the manager is to be included in this process.

This position will report to the senior manager of this project.


Duties:


PTE Supervisor Duties:


  • Supervise program staff to ensure they are providing effective services to clients in the program.
  • Conduct program monitor to ensure program objective and client needs are being met.
  • Assist in developing a data collection process to record outcomes and statistical information.
  • Complete all financial requirements in a timely manner such as Pa's, receipt submissions, and all other financial reconciliations as required by accounting.
  • Provide monthly supervision to the each staff in the program
  • Coordinate and oversee Sohkisiwin monthly meetings.
  • Ensure all required documentation is being submitted on time as required by funders, HR, accounting department, and program manager.
  • Provide staff with relevant training opportunities.
  • Ensure all new hires complete the orientation training plan.
  • Review reports on a monthly basis
  • Conduct random client surveys to ensure the clients are receiving effective services.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and support to staff in the program.
  • Ensure staff are maintaining client file contents
  • Ensure staff are adhering to agency and program policy, procedures, and expectations.
  • Enforce program expectations and ensure all administrative duties are being completed by staff.
  • Engage in community partnerships that support victims of violence.
  • Attend Agency monthly manager meeting.
  • Manage employees timesheets, time off, and flex time.
  • Ensure a program representative attends agency committee meetings
  • Ensure all staff are cross trained in all positions
  • Delegate duties to staff in relation to their position
  • When short staffed or hiring for a position delegate caseload to staff on an interim basis until the position is filled.
  • Conduct staff file audits on a monthly basis to ensure we are meeting agency audit requirements and all required documentation is filed.
  • Ensure the safety procedures, policies, and processes are being followed and implemented by program employees.
  • Participate in the Supervisory On-Call Schedule.
  • Other duties as requested by the program manager.

PTE - Outreach Coordinator:


  • Conduct risk assessments and assist in the development of safety plans for the participants and their children.
  • Assist participants in accessing natural and professional resources and support.
  • Support participants in family reunification when required.
  • Work with community agencies and systems to ensure the participant is supported.
  • Provide advocacy when required.
  • Meet participants in their homes or in community to provide support, guidance, goal planning, access to services,
  • Provide transportation to appointments or services.
  • Develop a therapeutic and trusting relationship with families, providing a sense of safety.
  • Connect and support participants in accessing cultural activities, services, and support such as providing access to Elders and attending sweats and ceremonies.
  • Assist participants in accessing services such as: groups events, educational, recreational, and therapeutic activities.
  • Provide emotional support, through role modeling of appropriate behavior and confidentiality.
  • Provide assistance and referrals to housing, psychologist, physician, outreach support, cultural connections and community integration.
  • Maintain client files both on paper and online.
  • Assist the team in scheduling and facilitating groupbased activities such as group counselling and an annual
