QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of the Personal Support Worker Certificate Required.
  • Current CPR.
  • One year experience working as a Health Care Aide or Personal Support Worker in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge and experience using proper body mechanics for a oneperson transport by wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Demonstrated understanding of proper body mechanics when pushing, pulling, lifting and transferring patients.
  • Working knowledge of stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, etc.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, judgment and decisionmaking skills.
  • Flexible, selfdirected and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
  • Must be available for all shifts, vacation replacement, sick time and paid holidays.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.
  • Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
