Overview:


Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for a Portfolio Analyst to be part of Pembina's Continuous Improvement Unit based in Calgary and will report to the Portfolio Manager, Continuous Improvement.

This role will support and drive Pembina's continuous improvement culture through the effective and efficient oversight of projects and programs, specifically focused on benefits realization.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence portfolio strategy, work closely with Operational leaders and project teams to support optimized execution of the portfolio, and coordinate effective reporting and tracking of benefits for the enterprise.

You will support projects/programs with identifying and managing interdependencies, resource constraints, risk and issue management, status reporting, and executive communications.


Responsibilities:

This role will have several key areas of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Portfolio Strategy & Intake - 10%

  • Support, update, manage, and publish associated standards, tools, templates and reports for portfolio management;
  • Analyze and assess potential projects against intake criteria and prioritization within the existing portfolio of projects/programs;
  • Onboard and enable new projects/programs into the portfolio.
Portfolio Optimization - 20%

  • Identification, documentation, and coordination of:
  • interdependencies between initiatives;
- resource constraints across the portfolio;

  • Risks and issues with associated mitigation and action plans;
  • Portfolio analysis and engagement with project teams to identify optimization opportunities;
  • Complete scenario analysis and make recommendations to strategically prioritize and optimize the portfolio projects, and sequencing.
Portfolio Reporting & Engagement - 60%

  • Coordinate a backlog of reporting enhancements, manage its change log, develop and implement enhancements, test and validate integration, and communicate changes;
  • Track details pertaining to each project including the master project list, contact information, stage gate status, inflow/outflow from portfolio;
  • Coordinate project status updates with project managers including management of communications, reporting cadence, support timely completion of reports, analysis of quality and completeness, integration into portfolio dashboard, and management of all associated files and processes;
  • Project and leadership engagement to support portfolio processes, integration, workshops, and stakeholder alignment and planning meetings.
Benefits Realization Tracking - 10%

  • Enhance and support utilization of the economic model and benefits realization tool with project sponsors, owners, and managers to develop benefit forecasts, and tracking of actual benefits realized.

Job Qualifications:


  • Superior problemsolving skills, highly organized, and a proven track record of effectively supporting or leading project, program or portfolio delivery;
  • Previous experience as either portfolio/project analyst, project controller, business analyst, or project manager;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project and portfolio lifecycle;
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills working with people at all levels;
  • A high level of personal integrity, personal drive to achieve results, selfstarter, a commitment to teamwork, and a strong desire to learn;

The following are not requirements but nice-to-have:

  • Post-secondary education in project management or business
  • Relevant certifications: CAPM, PMP, PBA, Project Controls Professional
  • Experience with business analytics tools
