We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated
Cleaner who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.


The
Cleaner is to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and neatness the Cleaner performs general housekeeping activities within the established guidelines for health and safety, infection control and quality management.

This position reports to the Manager of Operations.

This position is a
unionized,
permanent, full-time position. The rate of pay is $18.29 per hour.

**Key Responsibilities: - Complete a daily, weekly, & monthly checklist of cleaning requirements in and around the facility including but not limited to:

  • General Cleaning: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning glass, picking up debris, emptying garbage cans,
  • Deep Cleaning: changing linens, cleaning and sanitization of washrooms & fixtures, washing walls, and laundering linens.
  • Follow all Health and Safety regulations as well as the use of personal protective equipment provided
  • Responsible for keeping all areas in good order, appropriately supplied, and clean as per health and safety standards.
  • Operate various types of cleaning equipment to complete required tasks.
  • Maintain supply & product inventory
  • Provide support for other staff in emergency situations.
  • Work with volunteers and staff in team approach.
  • Participate in unit/staff meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will bring:


  • Two (2) years' experience in maintaining the cleanliness of a similar facility
  • First aid and C.P.R. and Nonviolent crisis intervention training.
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the code of ethics while working in social services, specifically exercising confidentiality, conflict of interest, and consent.
  • Ability to work in an environment that embraces an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion lens frame
  • Requires movements of bending, lifting and reaching that meet the Health and Safety regulations.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50lbs.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Wesley Mission, Vision and Values through service delivery approach
  • Acts with integrity
  • Adapts to changing program requirements, conditions and work responsibilities
  • Responsibility for the quality and timeliness of their work, and team work Understands the basic operation of technology, computer system, and programs; such as, Microsoft, software, etc.
