Description

Purpose
As a Rail Seating Coordinator, you will be a member of the Rocky Mountaineer Guest Operations team.

During the train season, the Rail Seating Coordinator is responsible for the planning and assignment of seats for the guests onboard the train for their journey.


Key Areas of Accountability

Rail Seating Administration:


  • Use current reservation and seating systems accurately. Garner complete knowledge of system's capabilities/limitations
  • Use internal tools to assign seats for all guests
  • Procure additional space as required to confirm bookings
  • Prepare and distribute Rail Seating reports
  • Prepare midpoint hotel forecasts for Procurement

Hotel Team Support:


Assists the Hotel team, Product Operations with:

  • Effective daily administration of accommodation service requirements within a 24-hour period
  • Processing last minute bookings, cancellations, or revisions within a reasonable time frame
  • Running required system reports 12 times per day in order to facilitate the process of administering hotel inventory
  • Releasing space in a timely manner to avoid unnecessary penalties
  • Performing other duties assigned as by the Logistics team management

Internal Team/s Support:


  • Liaising with internal teams to ensure excellent guest service; listening to their needs, providing knowledge, making suggestions, and following up to ensure guest satisfaction

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in tourism industry. Preference will be given to those with experience working in the Canadian Rockies and Pacific Northwest geographies
  • Reservations systems knowledge is preferred

Skills

  • Ability to understand and assess the requirements of the position as well as the importance of position relative to other departments at RM
  • An eye for detail, meticulous and organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: the ability to build rapport with internal business partners and the ability to lead by influence
  • Record of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Represents company positively, and demonstrates RM's trademark capability of going "beyond the call of duty"
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook; Adobe Design suite of products (or equivalent)
