Position Purpose
The goal of the Operator is to work under the direction of the Supervisor in setting up and operate various machinery to fabricate parts and perform engineering activities associated with manufacturing processes.
This position also involves all aspects of fabrication which includes CNC operations, punch press operations, assembly, saw cutting, packaging, housekeeping, and supporting other machine operators.
Responsibilities
- Assist in Engineering activities, inclusive of conducting analysis, data collection and improvement task execution
- Perform data entry into customized software, complete word and excel production documents
- Operation of machinery, forklift, and crane
- Ensures the cleanliness and operation efficiency of their workstations and work areas by completing general housekeeping duties as required
- Ability to anticipate and troubleshoot safety issues, production, or operational issues as they arrive and communicate with the appropriate person
- Perform work as required at any station or job assignment while ensuring safe, timely and customer compliant production of goods or products.
Skills and Abilities
- Organizational skills to read work orders and customer drawings.
- Compete shop drawings and understanding on engineering tolerances
- Machine Shop & CNC Set Up Experience preferred,
- Ability to grip, handle, and lift above the shoulder
- Ability to take direction and work independently and as part of a team
- Able to complete operational instruction as requested by the Lead hand and directed by the Production Supervisor or Operations Manager
- Must be able to use measuring tools and inspection gauges
- Able to work on rotation shifts if required to assist in production requirements
Mathematical Skills
- Advanced math, geometry skills along with creating docs using Microsoft office tools
- Perform necessary quality checks as per instructions and record the data into SPC software
Language Skills
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate needs and concerns with other crew members and management to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Summer Students must be enrolled in College/University and starting or returning to school in Fall 2024. _
Job Types:
Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 4 months
Salary:
From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
