Your role
Please note that this position is based in Montreal but may also be based in Quebec City, Toronto or Ottawa.
- Reporting to the Senior Director, Information Security, you track all audit activities for CBC/Radio-Canada's Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) component. In this role, you are the main point of contact with Internal Audit, the Office of the Auditor General and Internal Controls for all audits involving T&I. You provide stewardship for delivering component action plans and report on their progress. During audits, you coordinate and actively participate in meetings, producing audit items, reviewing recommendations and developing action plans with stakeholders. Your expertise allows you to advise stakeholders on the best audit management techniques for optimizing operational efficiency.
- More broadly, you work in conjunction with the Senior Specialist, Corporate Compliance and Regulatory Relations, to arrange compliance committee meetings and provide periodic status updates on current and upcoming audits and action plans.
- Lastly, with regard to information security, you are in charge of periodically assessing the maturity of security controls per the established control framework.
Please note that this position is in hybrid working mode.
Responsibilities:
- Develop T&I's audit and compliance function and information security practices.
- Receive, respond to and coordinate requests from Internal Audit (IA), the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) and Internal Controls regarding T&I.
- Provide T&I departments with guidance in developing the necessary action plans to address gaps and recommendations.
- Periodically report on the progress of action plans.
- Present audit plans and upcoming audits to stakeholders.
- Lead the implementation of a normative framework for compliance (policies, standards and procedures).
- Report on all audit and compliance activities at compliance committee meetings.
- Jointly develop CBC/Radio-Canada's cybersecurity control framework with the rest of the Cybersecurity Governance team.
- Periodically provide objective, independent advice on the organization's cybersecurity control maturity.
- Monitor compliance trends and best practices and share them with team members.
- Develop and enhance the audit function within the T&I component by establishing appropriate tools and procedures
Qualifications:
- University degree in information technology
- Two (2) years' experience in a similar position
- Skill in drafting and editing policies, standards and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent knowledge of the COBIT 5 framework
- Superior English
- Ability to be well organized and thorough and handle competing priorities
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information to address ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently
- CISA certification an asset
- Bilingualism (English and French)
