Pacific Coast Renewables, a division of Evergen Infrastructure Corporation, is a leader in composting and anerobic digestion operations that strive to make local communities cleaner and greener by producing renewable energy, compost, natural fertilizer and soil enhancement products from organic wastes.
Our operations play an important part in achieving a sustainable economy and minimization of greenhouse gas emissions.The Position
- Maintain a safe workplace by ensuring employee training is monitored and maintained
- Ensure safe execution and handling of composting and oversight of organic waste management processes
- Implement effective processes and execute tasks required to maintain compliance with the Facility's permits, the BC Environmental Management Act (EMA) and Organic Matter Recycling Regulation (OMRR) and other applicable regulations
- Develop and manage the annual operating budget to ensure safety and that reliable operational costs are met
- Identify and address root causes of variances from the established budget
- Nurture a culture of continuous Improvement to develop, share, and implement best practices
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to create facility processes and policies that are aligned with and support the overall strategic plan
- Contribute to the vision, mission, and strategic development for all current and future composting operations
- Ensure key performance indicators for department are met and develop best practices to maximize potential
- Prepare weekly production reports and monthly continuous improvement reports in advance of the scheduled meetings
- Maintain schedules of staff and compost operations
- Conduct site tours on a daily basis (Monday to Friday) and participate in the oncall routine which may require afterhours and weekend checks of the facility
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing personnel in a process or manufacturing environment
- Preference will be given to individuals with a post secondary degree in Engineering who are eligible for membership in Engineers and Geoscientists of BC
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in the composting industry would be considered an asset
- Knowledge and experience in the implementation of business processes such as Performance Management, Team Development, Reliability Centered Maintenance, and/or Lean Manufacturing is an asset
