    Description

    • Manage and oversee all enterprise backup and recovery operations across the organization.
    • Configure, maintain, and optimize Veeam, ExaGrid, Data Domain, and NetWorker backup environments.
    • Monitor backup job performance, storage capacity, deduplication efficiency, and system health.
    • Perform data restore operations for servers, applications, databases, and virtual machines as required.
    • Troubleshoot backup failures, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
    • Lead data recovery efforts during incidents, including ransomware or critical data-loss events.
    • Maintain and update disaster recovery plans to ensure RTO and RPO objectives are met.
    • Conduct regular disaster recovery tests and document results for compliance and improvement.
    • Ensure backup systems adhere to security, retention, and regulatory requirements.
    • Automate routine backup and reporting tasks using scripting tools such as PowerShell or Python.
    • Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, application, and cybersecurity teams to support data protection needs.
    • Provide technical guidance, documentation, and mentorship related to backup and recovery best practices.

    Requirements



    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field

    Industry Certifications (examples):
    o Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE)
    o Dell EMC Data Domain Specialist certifications (DCS-IE or equivalent)
    o ExaGrid Technical Certification (if applicable)
    o CompTIA Server+ or CompTIA Storage+
    o ITIL Foundation (for process and incident management)
    o Microsoft/VMware certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, or VCP) depending on environment
    o Cybersecurity certifications (Security+ / CySA+) beneficial for secure backup practices


    • 3-5+ years in enterprise backup, restore, and data recovery operations

    Hands-on experience with:
    o Veeam Backup & Replication
    o ExaGrid backup appliances
    o Dell EMC Data Domain systems
    o Dell EMC NetWorker backup software


    Experience designing and managing:
    o Backup retention policies
    o Offsite replication and disaster recovery solutions
    o Deduplication storage workflows


    • Demonstrated experience leading backup modernization, cloud integration, or DR automation initiatives
    • Track record of managing large-scale, multi-site backup environments
