Description
We have an immediate opening for a Lead Hand in Langley.

This position will responsible for Assisting and coordinating with supervisors to foresee all production crew activities and tasks at all times during work shifts.

Monitoring work habits, effectiveness and skill levels and making necessary changes or encouragements. Mentoring and acting as a role model for crew members while working alongside them on production floor.


Responsibilities:


People Management

  • Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Involvement in any HR issues that may arise & any instances of disciplinary action needing to be documented

Safety Management

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, always being an advocate for RIMEX's 6s program

Production

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, drawings/specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Schedule work and assist Production supervisor in planning to ensure efficiency of production.
  • Attending operations meetings as required.
  • Resolves production problems by drawing/ specification review; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results and maintaining OTD.
  • Documents actions by completing safety, quality and production forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Education:


  • Some post secondary education in trades

Experience, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate level skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
  • Experience with Equipment Maintenance, Manufacturing, Manufacturing Quality, Mechanical Inspection Tools, Tooling, Safety Management, Quality Focus, Power Tools
  • Previous experience with ERP software (Syteline) an asset
  • Lean manufacturing an asset
  • Effective time management skills to coordinate the department over multiple shifts
  • Exceptional people skills and a cando attitude are essential keys to success in this role.
