- As a Disclosure Analyst, you will process requests to access information under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act according to statutorily imposed criteria, within mandatory response times
Primary duties include:
- Process requests for information from the public, media, researchers, lawyers and provincial and federal government agencies.
- Locate, collect and analyze responsive records, determining the extent of disclosure in accordance with the FOIP Act.
- Record the redactions made to ensure all redactions are identified.
- Respond to queries from the public and Calgary Police Service (CPS) personnel regarding the right to access information under the FOIP Act and the procedures for obtaining access to CPS records.
- Act as a resource for CPS employees in relation to their responsibilities under the FOIP Act and CPS Policy.
Working Conditions:
Regular exposure to graphic and sensitive material.
Qualifications
***Certificate equivalent up to 1 year of full-time study in information access and privacy (IAPP) or related field and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in access and privacy or similar offices OR a Diploma in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in access and privacy or similar offices.
- Working knowledge of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) legislation is essential.
Pre-employment RequirementsAn enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
