The Fraser Valley Child Development Centre is a community based organization providing innovative, strength based, family centered services to children, youth and their families on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Stó:lō and Nlaka'pamux peoples.

Position Summary


Reporting to the Director of Speech-Language Services, this position is responsible for all aspects of caseload management using clinically accepted procedures to assess, plan and carry out speech-language programs either directly or through training caregivers and support staff.

The S-LP works collaboratively with children's families and other professionals (including OT, PT, Infant & Child Development Consultants, Key workers and more) to determine the best array and intensity of services for children based on the goals of their families.

Positions may be located in any of our three offices (Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission).

Our S-LPs work in homes, community settings, private schools and in our offices delivering services to a wide range of children and youth aged birth to 18 years across several FVCDC programs.


We are currently seeking enthusiastic applicants who are interested in working with preschool-aged and/or school-aged children and youth.**
Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC
  • Interest in working in a multidisciplinary team to support families and children
  • Previous experience working with children and youth is an asset
  • Previous experience working in a public or private school setting is an asset
  • Education and experience working in Indigenous communities is an asset
  • Ability to speak more than one language is an asset
  • RASP registration is an asset
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for work
