What's the role?:


The role of Machinist is responsible to provide superior sales support and customer service by working with the distribution team to ensure high quality and timely production of orders.

Duties include, but are not limited to, operating machinery to assist in the customization of products as detailed and outlined by the Project Management Office (PMO).

What does the role involve?:


  • Follow standard processes to build and produce standard and custom products to defined specifications in the Hilti production order, work instructions, and product drawings
  • Perform significant product modifications (cut, trim, coat, assemble); perform custom product packaging to produce kits to PMO specifications
  • Perform defined quality checks, adhere to quality standards, and accurately record results
  • Use SAP, or other management system, to request, release, log, and track production orders and schedule workload as directed by manager
  • Prepare and stage completed products for shipment
  • Maintain functional expertise by reviewing and retaining task related ERP system transactions
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping pallet areas, racks, shelves and workstations neat and orderly
  • Prepare Bills of Lading
  • Maintain inventory control by utilizing appropriate equipment, performing cycle counts and performing reconciliation of counts
  • Provide leadership within day to day distribution operations while focusing on meeting and/or exceeding team performance targets, with or without management on site
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Additional duties, as assigned

What you need is:


  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Advanced Mechanical aptitude, required
  • Experience in production type operations; demonstrated competent and safe operation of heavy machinery and control systems in a schedule conscious production environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical work instructions and job orders to competently perform required function and support production processes
  • Ability to perform visual inspections of materials being produced
  • Basic Math Skills
  • Strong teamwork skills, reliability, and commitment
  • Ability to read and follow safety guidelines, required
  • Forklift Certification, required (once in position)

Must be able to tolerate a variable climate, prolonged standing, repetitive bending and reaching, and climbing up and down laddersSafety Equipment Required:

  • Must observe and abide by all safety regulations as required by Hilti and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (COSHR)
Must wear steel toe boots, safety glasses, safety vest, and other safety equipment as required when working in the warehouse and/or operating machinery
