As Staff Development Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating a client-service oriented, engaged, motivated, and skilled workforce.
Reporting to the Program Director and the Executive Director, this position is responsible for supporting and coordinating recruitment, training and staff development activities, ensuring the organization establish and maintain a strong foundation for staff development.
This role is integral to enhancing staff engagement, professional growth, and organizational effectiveness.Qualifications
- A university degree or diploma in human resources management, business administration, or related field. Professional certification or working towards a professional designation (i.e., CPHR) is preferred. Demonstrated experience in a HR advising, staff development, and/or training and coordination.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives.
- Experience developing, leading and facilitating training using a wide range of methods.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, Zoom and HR software.
- Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector or similar setting is an asset.
- Criminal record check for the vulnerable sector.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive staff development strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Coordinate training programs, workshops, and seminars for staff members at all levels.
- Liaise with external training providers and manage contracts and agreements.
- Collaborate with team leaders to identify training needs and develop targeted programs.
- Organize and administer internal training resources and materials.
- Develop, lead and facilitate training.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and impact on staff performance and organizational outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of staff training and development activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding process for new staff members.
- Provide guidance and support to staff seeking professional development opportunities.
- Support teams leaders in coaching and performance development duties.
- Stay informed about best practices and trends in staff development and HR management.
- Coordinate student support for practicum placement within the Agency.
- Carry out practical staff and organizational support functions.
- Perform other duties relevant to this role as assigned.
