Job Purpose:
Act as the lead for all credit risk issues related to Citi's Canadian Franchise. Identify related issues for enhancement and
resolution and oversee their implementation and ensure strong credit risk management within Citi's Canadian Franchise. There are two main

aspects:
a) credit portfolio analytics to support the Canada Chief Risk Officer, management Risk Committee, Board of Directors Risk
Committee and Ad hoc regulator requests, and b) individual credit review and approval and ongoing individual credit monitoring in support of
the Canada Chief Risk Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Citi in discussions with Canadian regulators on credit risk issues
  • Ensure Canada Franchise complies with all Canadian and US regulations, guidelines and credit risk requirements
  • Perform or oversee gap analyses for new credit risk regulatory requirements and Citi policy enhancements and ensure timely closure of gaps
  • Oversee IFRS 9 Impairment process for Canada and analyze reserves
  • Review, analyze and challenge from local perspective Extensions of Credit and other credit approvals booked on the Canada Franchise
  • Monitor on an ongoing basis individual credits in Canada portfolio to ensure that ratings and classifications remain accurate and credit policy is being followed
  • Ensure Canada regulatory requirement that risk ratings be refreshed on a timely basis after material credit developments is met
  • Provide in depth analysis of how new Basel Standardized approach will affect Citi's Canadian Franchise and provide regular updates to regulators, Canadian senior management and ALCO
  • Deliver presentations regarding key credit risk issues, exposures, etc. to key internal clients and regulators
  • Represent Canada Risk Management in the implementation of Citi's global credit risk measures and framework
  • Oversee credit risk components of major regulatory submissions including annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process
  • Ensure that credit risks do not jeopardize compliance with Franchise Risk Appetite.
  • Design risk measures including stress tests and portfolio metrics to monitor credit risks to the Franchise.
  • Work closely with business and risk management colleagues to understand emerging risks
  • Inform Canada senior management and Citibank Canada Board of Directors of risk position of the Franchise as well as emerging risk issues and their potential impact to the Franchise
  • Project manager of Franchiselevel initiatives including Canada Franchise Scenario Plan and crossborder limit proposal.
  • Lead overall efforts for Capital Adequacy process and Risk Appetite Framework
  • Monitor credit portfolio and ensure issues are escalated and resolved timely by interacting with business partners Develop indepth analysis of credit risk issues for presentation to Canadian senior management, internal audit, Risk Committee, Board and regulators
  • Partner with global peers to leverage best practices in the identification and implementation of risk mitigation programs
  • Assess risk/return tradeoffs associated with transactions, products, and client relationships
  • Represent Citibank Canada at various Canadian Bankers Association committees on credit risks
  • Create and sustain a network of strong relationships with peers, Citi business partners and Canadian senior management

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years expertise in the performance and delivery of indepth risk analysis services within a large global financial institution
  • Extensive project management experience
  • Strong quantitative background; exceptional attention to detail
  • Must have a product knowledge across fixed income, equities, derivatives, corporate loans and deposits
  • Solid understanding of credit risk management
  • Selfstarter who works well in rapidly changing environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence senior executives and key clients internally or externally
  • MBA / CFA Education:
  • STEM undergraduate degree preferred
