Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commissioning Superintendent with a specialized focus on piping systems for a large hydrocarbon processing and export facility. The ideal candidate will oversee the final stage of construction, focusing primarily on the setup, testing, and validation of piping systems essential for the safe and efficient processing and exportation of hydrocarbons. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and extensive knowledge of piping systems within the hydrocarbon industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the commissioning phase of piping systems, ensuring all components meet design specifications and operational standards.
  
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and operational teams to ensure a seamless transition from construction to the operational phase, with a particular focus on piping systems.
  
• Lead the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including pressure testing, flushing, and cleaning of piping systems.
  
• Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules, specifically tailored for piping systems within the facility.
  
• Supervise and manage a team of technicians, engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure the integrity and safety of piping systems.
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to piping systems during the commissioning phase.
  
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on piping design, installation, testing, and maintenance.
  
• Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  
• Collaborate with project management to report progress, address challenges, and ensure timely completion of commissioning activities.
  
  Requirements:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in commissioning, with a strong focus on piping systems where you have to work with many different workers (unionized environment).
    
  • In-depth knowledge of piping design, materials, and industry standards.
    
  • Proven track record of successfully commissioning large-scale industrial projects.
    
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    
  • Proficient in relevant software and technology used in piping commissioning and documentation.
    
  • Skilled in using safety systems like LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) and PTW (Permit to Work).
    
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    
  • Must have WHIMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification.
