Free Rein Associates is looking for a
Queer Mentor for our Career Café program.

This position is a sub-contracted position, one day a week (7 hours) in our Career Café location at 895A #rd Ave.

Hope, BC. The rate is $250 per day.

The Career Café is an employment program for clients with multiple barriers which can include mental, physical or other chronic conditions.

The
Queer Mentor will act as a guide and resource navigator for those clients who are seeking guidance, support and information regarding gender identity and sexuality.

They will support clients in finding a sense of belonging within the LGBTQIA2S+ community, provide acceptance, guidance, encouragement and a non-judgmental listening ear in a consistent and intentional way.

Workshop facilitation topics could include:

life goals, personal stories about coming out or transitioning, histories of LGBTQIA2S+ communities; community resources, human rights and political issues, housing and homelessness, connecting with local services and groups, developing skills, exploring identity, coming out to friends and family, improving health and emotional wellbeing, and more.
