  • Must be willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote teamwork.

  • Must be self-motivating and have a high degree analytical ability and confidentiality, and work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.
  • Checking in and checking out guests and all other front desk duties as is required.
  • Ensure the current day's revenue balances are reconciled, the payments to the guest ledger are processed, and the accounts receivables are balanced.
  • Must be reliable and able to complete the audit in a timeframe that does not hinder the next business day.
  • Prepare daily management reports as required.
  • Complete the update process on the front office system per established system guidelines.
  • Complete system back-ups as required.
  • Balance and verify the summary of daily transactions in the hotel and ensure that the hotel's computer systems are readied for the next day's business.
  • Balance and audit all Front Office postings and settlements.
  • Verify that the room revenue and the applicable taxes have been recorded.
  • Prepare the housekeeping assignment sheets.
  • Reconcile the food and beverage point of sale system to the PMS system.
  • Reconcile all miscellaneous revenue sources to the PMS system.
  • Responsible for the completion of daily In-house Management Reports.
  • Perform security and maintenance checks of building.
  • Setup Breakfast in restaurant if required.
  • Ensure air quality and lighting in meeting rooms is ready for meetings of the day.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service by efficiently and accurately dealing with all guest transactions.
  • Use of proper telephone etiquette, adhering to Front Office Standards, answering all calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Acknowledge all customers that enter the lobby area and greets guests first.
  • Promote good will by being courteous, friendly, professional and helpful to guests and co-workers.
  • Take reservations as promptly and efficiently as possible with the knowledge that phone reservations take priority over all other forms of sales and customer service inquiries.
  • Applies the appropriate rate in accordance with the Front Desk SOPs.
  • Processes payments for all prepaid and third-party booking rates
  • Strong knowledge and use of Monte Carlo Inns Front Desk Procedures Manual.
  • Update Diamond Reward Member upgrades as required, block rooms, print labels and prepare key packets.
  • Check for special request, meal vouchers and prepare key packets if required.
  • Accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures including but not limited to posting all charges, completing cashier and other reports, preparing deposit, and counting/securing assigned bank.
  • Issue, control and release guest safe-deposit boxes.
  • Have a strong knowledge of hotel promotions and specials.
  • Have a strong knowledge of fire and health and safety procedures.
  • Have a strong knowledge of conflict resolution procedures and provide detailed reports on incidents during the shift.
  • Maintain proper attendance.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years guest services related experience in a related industry.
  • Previous hotel experience would be considered a strong asset.
  • Bilingual would be considered a strong asset.

Education:

Hospitality/Tourism/Business degree would be considered a strong asset.
