Structural Steel and Platework Estimator to join our team

Qualifications

Minimum (5) years experience estimating in an fabrication environment.
Diploma in Mechanical or Structural Engineering considered a strong asset.
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Scheduling, and Microsoft Project.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual, designbuild or general tender work.
Ability to complete Budgeting and Scheduling for projects. Monitor progress, requisition change orders and identify any potential risks.
Ability to confer with Engineers, Designers, Owners, Contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Ability to prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of projects.
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
Ability to formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress
Experience in a QA/QC role considered a strong asset.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
