Preferred

  • Knowledge of antiques, collectibles, and brand recognition
  • Experience with Point of Sales systems and processing cash transactions

Job Synopsis

  • This salaried.8 FTE (30 hours weekly) position is responsible for keeping up with inventory flow in a fast paced, highcapacity setting. This position works closely with the management team in the daytoday requirements of the shop. The Associate's primary area of responsibility is in the Receiving area.
The Associate's assignments in the Receiving area may include:

  • Loading and unloading vehicles and sorting donations
  • Collecting and organizing refuse, recycling, ewaste etc.
  • Logistics driving cube van of items to various locations (e.g. other shops, landfill etc.)
  • Logistics driving cube van to pick up and deliver furniture
Working hours include evenings and Saturdays and are reflective of shop hours. The shop is closed on Sunday.
The Associate will work in close collaboration with all of the shop staff team and volunteers.
As required, the Associate will receive health and safety training including WHMIS and First AID, CPR upon hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador for MCC mission and values in every interaction with customers and donors
  • Support Coordinators/Managers as needed to meet the demands of daily operations
  • Assist with special events and projects as needed
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with volunteers
  • Greet customers and donors, respond to questions and provide outstanding customer service
  • Ensure MCC Ontario policies and procedures are followed
Receiving

  • Be proactive in maintaining clean workspaces that meet health & safety standards, in the workroom and on the retail floor
  • Assist with light cleaning to ensure immaculately clean environment (e.g. sweeping, dusting displays, recycling & garbage collection, etc.)
  • Assist in the ongoing organization of receiving area, workroom, sellon items, and seasonal storage
  • Sort, clean and price donations in various departments as needed
