Porchlight Developments Ltd., a Multi-Family and Senior Living home builder, is currently searching for Construction Labour Foreman to join Porchlight's Site Team in Winnipeg, MB


As the Construction Labour Foreman, you will be assisting the Site Supervisor in supervising and coordinating Trade Partners and site activities to manage site conditions while facilitating the deficiency free delivery of construction projects, built with superior quality and safety standards.


Your accountabilities include:

  • Assist the Site Supervisor in coordinating and supervising site activities within the guidelines of Procedures and Standards, monitoring quality control to ensure objectives are met.
  • Perform carpentry and other general site tasks for new construction or tenant improvement work in accordance with work orders, plans and specifications.
  • Ensure all work meets superior quality control standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Conduct tasks addressing and correcting deficiencies
  • Accurately record and maintain relevant paperwork.
  • Be an active participant in Porchlight's safe work culture; Perform tasks in accordance with Health and Safety standards in line with Porchlight SECOR Certified Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Coordinate and/or carry out activities to achieve and maintain a clean, organized, and presentable site.
  • Remaining informed and in the know on the general scope of work.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the Site Supervisor.

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of wellrounded construction wood framing experience with roughtofinishing skills. Previous experience in multifamily fourstory wood frame construction a major asset
  • Previous experience as a Lead Hand or similar role.
  • Carpenter Certification.
  • Ability to provide own hand tools.
  • Valid drivers license with access to reliable personal transportation each day.
  • A demonstrated track record of dealing successfully and diplomatically with Trade Partners and Stakeholders.
  • Self motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision.
  • A keen eye for detail with the ability and willingness to report concerns and safety hazards to supervisor in an effective and time sensitive manner.
  • Experience with Procore Construction Management Software an asset.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and documents.
  • Working knowledge of governing building codes and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, coupled interpersonal savvy.
  • Ability to assess the quality of woodwork and materials.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Highly safetyoriented with ability and willingness to carry out tasks in line with Porchlight's SECOR Certified Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • Superior attention to detail and organized with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Able to work overtime as necessary to meet project deadlines.
Working Conditions

  • Indoors/outdoors at various work locations
  • Walking and standing for long periods of time
  • Bending, crouching, and crawling
  • Climbing ladders and working at heights
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (ie: hard hat, safety boots, etc.)
  • Manual dexterity required to operate hand and power tools and other equipment
  • Additional hazards associated with the residential construction industry
