Description
Responsible for bookkeeping for our business Entities.The Bookkeeper is responsible for the full cycle bookkeeping for our retail store, set to open in Oct 2023, as well as day-to-day accounting and finance requirements.
As our bookkeeper, you will:
- Enter source documents for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Ensure payables are entered and payments are made in a timely manner
- Deposit cheques received, monitor receivables, write receipts for cheques and direct deposits.
- Prepare monthly reporting package with financial statements
- Prepare month end journal entries
- Process cash payments
- Balance and record daily sales
- Prepare bank and Visa reconciliation
- Prepare payroll and association
- Benefit administration
- Preparation of GST and PST reports
- Process EFT deposits
- Cooperate with auditors to ensure they have the correct and complete documentation
- Prepare year end reports
- Provide vacation relief for the other Bookkeeper and Nation's Accounts Payable Clerk
- Prepare and balance the daily cash deposits at the bank, possibly multiple deposits in a day
- Support the retail Store Managers and Finance Manager and other staff with any reporting requests or duties not listed in the above core responsibilities
- Other duties as required
Education, Qualifications, and Experience
The incumbent must have previous experience working in payroll, benefits administration, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping and computer operations, including the Microsoft Office Suite and Adagio Accounting system are required

Job Type:
Initially part time, but could grow into full time as the Band adds more businesses in the future.
