    Position Information Position Title Part-Time Academic: SLWK 5004 Field Work and Seminar - Winter/Summer Posting Number PTAP2447P Department/Unit Social Work Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will serve as the Faculty Field Advisor for: SLWK 5004, "Field Work and Seminar". The course will be offered in the Winter/Summer terms, from January-June 2025. To confirm dates, times, and location of field seminars, please consult the Dalhousie University: Academic Timetable. Note: this course is part of the MSW program.

    The part-time academic position is responsible for guiding a series of seminars, liaising with student field placement agencies for a series of meetings, dealing with any issues that arise within the field placement, overseeing the completion of an academic presentation, and conferring on final grades. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations preceding course delivery. Qualifications/Requirements of Position REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. Solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree (or higher) and previous teaching experience is preferred.
