    We are currently seeking an:

    Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead, (Adult caseload) for

    Central – York region

    $2000 Sign On Bonus for Full-Time Caseload

    What will be your role?

    As an Occupational Therapist at VHA, you will be assessing and providing consultation, recommendations and interventions to a diverse group of clients in their homes using evidence-based best practice. You will ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with the client care team regarding plans and schedules for interventions, problem solve in collaboration with the client and care team to create opportunities for more independence, and promote VHA's core beliefs and values.

    Among other roles, will provide advice, mentoring, consultation, and expertise related to the Occupational Therapy profession. You will provide joint visits with other Occupational Therapists and Service Providers to give input for performance reviews and to support Occupational Therapists and Service Providers who face clinically challenging situations. You will provide clinical orientation for new Occupational Therapists and Service Providers, and mentor groups for new graduates or those new to the community setting. You will identify, promote, and participate in best practice initiatives reflective of the requirements of the evolving health care system. You will also meet regularly with the Supervisor, Rehab Best Practice. You will act as a resource in the implementation and interpretation of discipline-specific professional standards of practice, contribute to the development of standards of practice, clinical policies and procedures relevant to the profession.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Training and qualification as an Occupational Therapist.
    • Member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
    • Valid Driver's License with access to a vehicle.
    • Skilled at electronic documentation.
    • Able to provide virtual care.
    • A registered ADP authorizer (asset).
    • Demonstrate interpersonal, organizational, planning, communication and leadership skills.
    • Demonstrate expertise in the standards of practice of the relevant professional body.
    • Excellent consultation, teaching, and mentoring skills.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in community health preferred.
    • Specialized courses to support areas of clinical expertise.
    • Knowledge of community care requirements and resources available.
