Summary of the role:


The Franchise Business Development Manager will have an overall responsibility of supporting Body Energy Club franchise owners in the startup of their business.

This role will work closely with local contractors, suppliers, and vendors while aligning with the company brand.


This role requires someone who is self-organized, strong attention to detail, works within budgets, responsible for meeting deadlines, and a creative thinker to drive sales initiatives within the store.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Lead all aspects of franchising development functions, including strategic planning, market analysis, and alternative development initiatives
  • Construct store layouts for optimal efficiency, source equipment from preferred vendors, ensure successful pass of inspections, and obtain relevant building and construction permits to open locations as turnkey operations
  • Stay up to date with local bylaws and implement change where necessary
  • Build a franchise development pipeline and process that consistently maintains a sufficient inventory of qualified new franchise prospects to meet the Company's short/longterm growth plans
  • Manage the franchisee selection process, including interviewing franchise applicants and assessing suitability through a thorough due diligence process to ensure appropriateness and fit
  • Identify market expansion opportunities
  • Select and partner with local contractors, suppliers, and vendors
  • Onboard franchisees and provide initial and ongoing training on all aspects of running a franchise location. Coach partners with clear expectations by setting goals, aligning priorities, and creating plans to achieve goals. Provide guidance and feedback for improvement
  • Work with new franchisees to ensure the franchisees and their staff are adequately trained in procedures and best practices
  • Build business relationships with real estate business owners (new and experienced), brokers, managers, investors, and corporate partners
  • Establish matrix to track conversion ratio of leads to signed franchise agreements, speed from signed agreement to first successful store opening, and identification and execution of strategic development agreements (retail partners, new venues, cobranding, etc.)
  • Collaborate with Corporate partners to develop store consistency and communicate corporate policies and changes
  • Make recommendations to senior management in the creation of regional and/or national strategic development plans
  • Protect the brand by identifying and addressing issues that may pose risks to customer experiences and ensures brand perceptions are addressed appropriately
  • Develop a thorough understanding of our brand, goals, policies, programs, and tools
  • Conduct structured coaching activities for assigned franchisees (business reviews, system walkthroughs, site visits)
  • Maintain a food safe and sanitary environment

Minimum Job Requirements:


  • Flexible schedule availability required for all applicants during business operations for 7 days a week from 6:00am 11:00pmFull time hours for Managers can work 40+ hours per week
Willing to work evenings and weekends and lead by example to support team members

  • Maintain constant punctual attendance and contribute to positive team morale
  • Must be able to come in under short notice (i.e., on call situations, employee relations)
  • Driver's license and owned vehicle is required
    Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a field relating to retail management or equivalent experience

Experience:


  • 3+ years of experience in the health supplement industry required
  • 5+ years of Franchise sales and management experience, with knowledge of franchising law, regulations, and procedures
  • 5+ years of experience in a retail management environment required
  • Minimum of 7 years leadership experience in the development function for a national or regional multiunit restaurant chain
  • 7 years of Franchise development (preferred)
  • 7 years of Franchise sales (preferred)
