    TWD is currently looking for an Mechanical Engineer , located in Calgary or Edmonton, AB. Willing to go to site on as a needed basis.

    Job Responsibilities:


    • Support the sustaining capital team, operations and maintenance in identifying problems with machinery and developing solutions.


    • Support operations in specifying mechanical machinery packages.


    • Develop specifications and scopes of work for engineering packages and sustaining capital scopes.


    • Reviewing proposals.


    • Oversee mechanical engineering by engineering companies, technical aspects only.


    • interacting with engineering companies and internal departments example: supply management, operations, maintenance.


    • reporting to the lead, reliability engineering.


    • Review, select and approve mechanical specifications for processing equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, components, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, storage tanks and other equipment.


    • Responsible for the timely completion of projects; use engineering knowledge in the planning and executing of assignments.


    • Ensure all code requirements are met.


    • General support to the Mechanical Engineering discipline.


    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:


    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.


    • 10 – 15 years of professional experience in related field. ECM background preferred.


    • Registered Professional Engineer in AB (P. Eng required).


    • Site experience within the oil & gas industry.


    • Work scope will be broad in nature and a generalist's background will be advantageous with at least one of the following as a focus in previous experiences: pressure vessels, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, air coolers, rotating equipment, or pipe stress.


    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Project).


    • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and experience in a client facing role is strongly preferred.


    • Experience leading small projects.
