The Associate Engagement & Performance Specialist will report to the Supervisor of Talent Acquisition & Engagement.


Job Overview

The Associate Engagement & Performance Specialist is responsible for leading and managing the associate engagement and talent strategy. They support the management in obtaining senior leadership buy-in for the engagement strategy and associated initiatives. Through strategic initiatives, the engagement specialist will build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external). The role is best suited for an individual that is a team player along with a positive attitude and is quick to learn.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensures that associate experience/engagement programs are effectively researched, planned and delivered, including campaign planning, engagement and appreciation programs, and social/CARES events, survey design and execution, data collection, report and presentation preparation, and communications.
  • Act as a key member of the HR SPS Cares and Social Committee.
  • Administer programs and activities to enhance and in support of the Awards & Recognition Program, Service Award program, Retirement gift program, including administration of online platforms.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local communities and nonprofits as well as external volunteer partners.
  • Create engaging social media content in partnership with external vendor (where applicable)
  • Develop and implement digital engagement strategies across various platforms.
  • Review visuals including pictures, videos, infographics etc. and ensure all Associates have signed a consent photo when needed.
  • Perform engagement discussions, develop documents, metric analysis and aligning results with associate engagement drivers.
  • Manages the associate engagement survey process, sets up the survey, assesses trends, gaps, and outcomes, and works with operations to create recommendations/action plans.
  • Assists with the development and preparation of materials for HR educational sessions, workshops, and communications.
  • Assists to facilitate the associate performance/probationary review process, recognition, and stay interviews at regular intervals, track and file completed forms, follow up on outstanding items, and escalate any concerns if needed.
  • Partner in performance management discussions, coaching and talent development plans for review.
  • Support compensation programs including merit, bonus, rewards & recognition, and promotions to support talent development through various programs.
  • Support continuous development strategy for leaders and top talent and assist the management team with building a highperformance team through talent evaluations, workforce and succession planning, risk assessment and development plans.
  • Handle the scheduling of external training providers and training venues for HR led training initiatives for development plans.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure that initiatives are properly represented and communicated across all levels/channels.
  • Assist in the monitoring and reporting on department KPIs and other performance indicators.
  • Follow, participate, and make recommendations regarding safety, environmental performance, quality, productivity, and customer feedback.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 13 years' experience in human resources or related experience.
  • Grade 12 diploma required.
  • Certification in HR an asset.
  • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact efficiently and courteously.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and integrity of all sensitive data.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills / Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Proven ability to manage projects with multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and visual presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible to workdays, evening, to meet with associates on occasion.
