RSM's Environment, Social, and Governance ("ESG") Assurance Services practice helps companies and organizations, both private and public sector, execute on their ESG reporting mandates through utilizing an industry-focused, analytical, transparent, and data driven approach.

We assess, identify, strategize, and provide industry insights to enable companies to determine their ESG measurement, plan their next steps concerning ESG, and integrate ESG into their operational and strategic decision making.

We provide our clients with the confidence and understanding to navigate the ESG landscape, including risks, trends, and opportunities, becoming their first-choice advisor throughout their ESG journey.


RSM's ESG Assurance Services practice makes use of our assurance methodologies and technology solutions to carry out a variety of ESG attestation projects for clients across key industries such as financial services, consumers, energy, industrials, real estate and construction, health care, technology and more.


Responsibilities:


  • Carrying out research and employing RSM's assurance methodologies to deliver on various client engagements
  • Assisting the team to verify ESG, Impact, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Climate, and Sustainability reports
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of RSM's assurance methodologies
  • Providing support and guidance to more junior members of the team
  • Engaging directly with clients and various stakeholders both informally and formally as part of ongoing project management activities
  • Ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met
  • Occasionally contributing to business development efforts through proposal and pitch deck creation, statement of work and engagement letter drafting
  • Contributing to the practice through thought leadership articles and educational presentations, as well as internal knowledge transfer
  • Identifying and acquiring credentials in various ESGrelated topics
  • Understand firm capabilities across lines of business to identify cross selling opportunities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Sustainability, Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • 12 years of ESG assurance
  • Experience working with ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, Global Reporting Initiative, Taskforce on Climaterelated Financial Disclosures)
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation development skills (including aesthetics and information organization)
  • Ability to work successfully in a teamoriented, collaborative environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to travel to client sites as required
  • Highly selfmotivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks on time
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated work ethic and ability to work effectively with people at all levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A MSc in climate change, climate economics, climate policy, engineering or comparable professional experience
  • Experience in climate solutions including GHG modeling, net zero strategy development, sciencebased target development
  • Understanding of climate models, databases, projections, and regulatory requirements, as well as carbon reporting and accounting software
  • An ability to explain and present complex topics (climate change, economics) clearly to non
  • Certification in any of the following: SASB FSA (Level 1 and 2), TCFD, GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, PRI, or other related ESG certifications
  • Ability to break complex issues into project steps and problem solve
