Description

Mill Valley Child Care Centre is looking for a part time staff to work 3-6 Monday to Friday, PA days, Winter Break, March Break and Summer Holidays, in a School Age Program.

Qualifiacations:

ECA: Previous experience with young children in a group setting
Knowledge of CCEYA, 2014, Early Learning Framework, How Does Learning Happen? and Emergent/Inquirybased program, an asset.
Experience with the Toronto Children's Services Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), an asset
Recent (within 6 months) Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Physically able to participate in program with children inside and outside the classroom.
Sensitive and inclusive to the children and families' needs.
Able to work well within a team environment by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with children, parents and staff
Flexible and adaptable to changing environments.
Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, and caring attitude in the classroom.
Excellent communication skills verbal and written
Welldeveloped problemsolving, conflict resolution skills and good judgement
Selfdirected with proven commitment to contribute to the team
Inclusive and sensitive to the children's and families' needs
Exhibit a genuine, nurturing, and caring attitude in the classroom
Guide children's behaviour in a positive manner and at a level that is appropriate to their actions and their ages in order to promote self discipline, ensure health and safety and respect the right of others
Ensure that all facilities, supplies and equipment are kept clean, safe and free of hazards
Set up and put away all equipment used during the course of the program, keeping everything tidy
Follow cleaning guidelines
Assist in children's toileting needs
