Logistics & Yard Coordinator:

Summary:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain and execute the daily dispatch plan to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timelines of outbound/inbound loads.
Continually monitor workloads throughout the department and actively pursue additional resources including third party trucking when justified.
Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules.
Create initiatives and procedures that maximize departmental ability to service clients with utmost efficiency.
Discuss and resolve issues with drivers concerning bid package questions, oncall status, assignments, etc.
Verify and process driver paperwork including drivers logs, third party customer billing.
Maintain accurate up to date information on delivery equipment so that drivers will know what they are driving and what is available for use at any given time during the shift.
Respond to issues and concerns with thoroughness and accuracy.
Adhere to corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
Responsible for management of truck driving employees
Review and maintain CVOR in good standing.
Familiarity with fleet telematics, GPS tracking, and other relevant technologies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.
College program in logistics or equivalent businessrelated experience (preferred)
Minimum 23year experience with dispatch/call center environment an (asset)
Heavy float, flat bed, dump trailer and roll off experience (Construction industry preferred).
Transportation industry knowledge and experience an asset (i.e. shipping/receiving, scheduling, freight negotiations and regulatory requirements)

Advance computer skills

Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe
Able to deal with people, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
Ability to meet and adhere to deadlines and work under strict time constraints.
Excellent customer service/communication skills.
Ability to manage a team in a busy environment.
Valid commercial drivers license (preferred)
