Key Qualifications:
· Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and in good standing
· Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred
· Experience in the management of post-operative care of orthopaedic injuries/conditions, primarily hip and knee replacements, within an acute in-patient setting.
· Evidence of continuing education, professional and personal development is required. Completion of specialized orthopaedic courses and/or certification in orthopaedic intervention techniques is an asset
· Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively with a high performance team, as well as families and community partners,
· Sound knowledge of community resources is an asset
· Demonstrates effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
· A second language is considered an asset
Position Summary:
· Responsible for the delivery of client-centered physiotherapy services for patients who are post-operative following orthopaedic surgery, primarily the hip and knee joint replacement populations
· Provides physiotherapy assessment, goal oriented treatment interventions, client/family education and support to address medical and emotional needs.
· Performs as a coach/mentor, consultant and uses sound critical thinking skills to achieve client outcomes and facilitate team functions.
· Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation.
· Supervises support personnel, students and volunteers as appropriate
