Equipment Operator and Delivery Driver

Job responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as loaders and tub grinders
  • Load and unload materials onto trucks and trailers using equipment
  • Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure proper functioning and maintenance needs
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as checking fluids and lubricants, replacing parts, and cleaning
  • Follow safety procedures when operating equipment and working in the yard and on job sites
  • Plan and schedule delivery routes to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Follow traffic laws and regulations while operating the delivery vehicles
  • Complete necessary paperwork and logbooks, such as delivery tickets, time sheets and maintenance records
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues to provide excellent service and address any concerns or issues

Education/Assets

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience operating heavy equipment, such as loaders and tub grinders
  • Valid commercial drivers license (DZ) with clean driving record and 3 year letter of experience
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations when operating equipment and transporting materials
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and scheduled delivery routes
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and operate equipment for extended periods of time
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold

Working Conditions:


  • Work independently
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • May need to work weekends and evenings
  • Exposure to dust, dirt, and noise from equipment and machinery

Job Types:
Part-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 7 months

Part-time hours: 24 per week


Salary:
$23.00-$28.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift

Supplemental pay types:

  • Overtime pay
