As an integral member of the Allied Health Team at UHN, the
Operations Lead, Allied Health works in support of and in collaboration with the Allied Health (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, respiratory therapy, registered dietitian and social work) clinical team to provide leadership and direction for services.


Duties

  • Maintaining responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the Allied Health Team
  • Provide leadership and direction to the interprofessional and administrative team
  • Assuming responsibility for the effective management of patient care and quality
  • Managing and developing human resources
  • Performing financial management responsibilities in collaboration with the financial manager/management team
  • Performing corporate management responsibilities
  • Performing crossfunctional duties, as assigned or requested; performing other duties consistent to the job classification, as required
  • The Operations Lead, Allied Health will have to work closely with the Allied Heath Manager

Qualifications:


  • At minimum, completion of a master's degree in a regulated health profession or recognized equivalent required.
  • At minimum, over 4 years up to and including 6 years practical and related experience required
  • Experience in a primary care environment
  • Membership in good standing with a Regulated Allied Health Professional College
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Adapts to and implements change and facilitates its acceptance by others
  • Maintains and protects patient confidentiality in accordance with UHN Confidentiality policy requirements
  • Has knowledge of UHN and/or departmental policies, procedures & protocols.
  • Has knowledge of applicable legislation affecting human resources (i.e. Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.)
  • Has knowledge of collaborative networks, primary care, and integrated health systems
  • Excellent recognizing, analyzing and resolving problems skills.
  • Excellent decision making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgment and to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations.
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent skills relating to service orientation, anticipating, recognizing and meeting customer needs required.
  • Ability to work in a self directed manner
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multitask
  • Compliance with confidentiality requirements
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
