The Opportunity

The Logistics Specialist reporting to the Manager, Logistics, will be a crucial player within BioSteel.

This individual will be a detail-oriented leader, who possesses strong planning and organizational skills, and exceptional communication skills, who can work both independently and collaboratively with numerous teams.

The key to success in this role will be the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively among teams and to be able to plan and effectively manage project activities, schedules, and dependencies; managing team and stakeholder relationships, and the ability to tackle, escalate and resolve issues creatively while ensuring project delivery.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee all aspects of logistics both domestically and internationally.
  • Work closely with Operations to coordinate inbound/outbound LTL, TL or Logistics shipments using approved carriers.
  • Work closely with Operations to coordinate import/export shipments using approved carriers.
  • Oversee and manage shipment exceptions and escalate appropriately.
  • Ensure meeting defined KPI's.
  • Escalate any issues to Manager, Logistics or Director, Logistics
  • Work with Logistics Manager on corrective actions involving 4PL/3PL.
  • Participate in 3PL/4PL business reviews.
  • Analyze shipping patterns and recommend cost saving opportunities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with vendors and the carrier base through timely and datadriven feedback to improve cost and service performance.
  • Pull Logistics reports to present to Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience- 2-3 years of Logistics experience- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred- APICS Certification (Certified Supply Chain Professional) preferred- International shipping experience by land, air, sea and courier- Ability to manage multiple projects- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills- Strong team player- Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.

This is a full-time role based out of Toronto, Ontario.
