We are currently hiring a 2D Rigging Artist to join our busy Toronto studioThe Rigging Artist reports to the Rigging Supervisor and will be responsible for taking vector art created by the design team and distributing it to working rigged hierarchy in Harmony, as well as adjusting the hierarchy to fit character specific requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Rigging team and collaborates with Design and Animation teams
- Completes assigned assets efficiently including revisions within given schedule
- Must be able to set up a character or prop so that the character/prop can move in the desired manner
- Test rigs, and ensure that they will hold up in animation
- Aims for consistency of the rigs throughout the production
- Identify problems and ask for help when needed
- Must have great organizational skills and ability to follow established conventions
- Proactively communicate problems and issues early on and provide solutions when possible
Key Requirements
- 12 years experience working on an animated production
- Strong working knowledge of 2D Rigging principles
- Strong working knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony, Toon Boom Certification is a plus
- Solid understanding of anatomy, mechanics and movement
- Good working knowledge of Shotgun, Microsoft Office 365 and Teams
- Team player with a positive attitude with the ability to take direction
- Reliable with good communication skills, especially while working remotely
- Proactive and detail oriented
- Able to multitask on multiple episodes and work efficiently under pressure
- Working with textures and highlights is an asset
- Working with master controllers is an asset
- Strong drawing skills are an asset
- Experience working as an animator is a plus
