The AMA is recruiting for the position of Director Member Engagement As a member of the Advocacy & Engagement teamThis position will support the Vice President in leading the Advocacy & Engagement branch providing strategic advice guidance to the team as per the branch plan and wider AMA priorities Manage oversee and build capacity by supervising mentoring direct reports Serve as VP s representative for high priority work especially in areas involving member engagement internal collaboration Provide strategic communication advice to in-house initiative driven teams committees bilateral programs external multi stakeholder projects Work in collaboration with team members across AMA branches to plan implement strategic communications activities emphasizing messaging strategy Assist advise team members responding questions concerns from members public external partners staff regarding public affairs advocacy member engagement matters
Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership build enhance capacity of Advocacy & Engagement branch supervising coaching mentoring direct reports conducting performance reviews supporting growth excellence
- Partner VP public affairs advocacy media relations member relations initiatives under AMA Business Plan Serve VPs designate media relations member engagement portfolios lead teams VPs absence Lead communication strategies major internal initiatives ensuring integration external advocacy public relations media government relations plans maintaining consistent messaging platforms AMA branches Monitor emerging risks opportunities within initiatives provide strategic advice recommendations VP Senior Leadership Team
- Oversight production AMA publications channels Annual Report Alberta Doctors Digest e-newsletters website intranet social media set strategy editorial plans oversee content creation ensure standards approvals analytics improve impact Own manage Presidents correspondence process directing senior communications consultants protocol compliance alignment AMA messaging key topics issues continuous improvement best practices
