JOB OVERVIEW:
Assist in the Accounting operation under the guidance of the Finance Manager. Ensure all functions are being performed accurately, in a timely basis and according to hotel standards.
REPORTS TO:
Finance Manager and/or Assistant Controller
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department and work with Management to advise of formal policies and procedures, identifying options and resolving issues.
Assist in managing revenues received and dispersed including accounts payable, functions for the hotel.
Implement and maintain acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by company policy and procedures, generally accepted accounting practices, and as effected by local conditions.
Assist, communicate and support financial control procedures and systems; maintain documents for audits of hotel accounts; ensure compliance with government regulations, federal, provincial and local laws.
Assists with ensuring all accounts are reconciled on monthly basis.
Interact with outside contacts:
Guests - to provide service, send bills
Vendors - to pay bills or discuss pricing or billing issues
Provide end user direct, remote or phone support to our team members to resolve Incidents.
Assist with other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Previous hotel experience and 1+ year in hotel accounting or audit is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and workrelated experience
- Experience and working knowledge of the following systems:
- IQWare
- PMS / AR
- ProfitVue
- Accounting
- Restaurant Manager-POS
- Effective Communication with people via verbal and written
- Mathematical skills, including advanced math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances are utilized frequently.
- Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are used often.
- Reading abilities are used often in reviewing financial analyses, budgets, and other related reports. Writing abilities are used in compiling these financial reports, as well as to document.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Salary:
$17.00-$18.50 per hour

Experience:
- Accounting
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
