    Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Manager the Senior Human Resources Generalist-Operations is avital part of a progressive and engaged HR team. The incumbent will proactively engage with business operations to deliver HR Initiatives that support business objectives and drive growth for the business and its people. This role will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: performance management, coaching, compensation, policy implementation, and compliance. This position will be in Etobicoke, Ontario and requires a daily onsite presence.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists in the preparation of the HR Strategic and Operating Plan.
    • Develops and facilitates HR related training and conducts presentations to the client group, as needed.
    • Engage as a trusted adviser and subject matter expert to coach employees and managers on sensitive work-related issues related but not limited to conflict resolution.
    • Handle disciplines, up to and including terminations.
    • Provide support to all employees to ensure that concerns and questions are heard, understood, and responded to in a professional, efficient manner.
    • In collaboration with Senior HR Manager, VP of Human Resources, and other key stakeholders, implement annual HR plans that address key business objectives.
    • Supports in the development, execution, and rollout of projects and programs such as performance management, engagement.
    • Process employee complaints such as, sexual harassment, discrimination, or other instances of workplace harassment and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions.
    • Develop, participate, and communicate employee engagement initiatives and organize all company social activities.
    • Providing administrative support and data analysis.
    • Maintain confidentiality and integrity through all courses of actions.
    • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and provincial requirements and conducting investigations.
    • Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.
    • Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.
    • Act as a payroll back-up for salaried employees.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business Administration, or related field
    • 5+ years of experience working in a human resources role, manufacturing environment is required; minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of HR legislation, Health & Safety legislation, and Employment Law.
    • Knowledgeable and able to process full-cycle salaried payroll, and all activities related to Canadian payroll (e.g. Terminations, new hires, leaves, ROE, WSIB, EHT, T4)
    • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills are required.
    • Demonstrated formal presentation skills are required.
    • Once acquired and trained in the role, the employee must be able to make decisions with efficient risk assessment.
    • NB: Successful candidates will be required to provide photo ID, banking details, a valid SIN number, and (if applicable) a valid work permit

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
