    Bruno's Contracting (Thunder Bay) Limited is a diversified heavy civil construction group with over forty years of experience in heavy civil construction, road building, asphalt paving, materials production, and demolition. We are currently welcoming applications for an Asphalt Plant Foreman/Operator, capable of fulfilling the following requirements: Job Description/Responsibilities:
    • Operate, and ensure safe and efficient operation of multiple asphalt plants, using controls and computer based blending systems to produce a variety of high-quality asphalt products
    • Monitor asphalt plant controls and material volumes to ensure products produced are within necessary specifications
    • Communicate and coordinate with other members of our organization and external parties on topics relating to – the operating efficiency of the plant, asphalt production order quantities, technical and mechanical issues, quality control matters, mix adjustments, parts orders, and aggregate, fuel and asphalt cement inventories and orders, etc.
    • Complete daily records, and asphalt plant production reports documenting quantities of asphalt cement, aggregate, and fuel consumed
    • Perform ongoing daily inspection of hot mix asphalt facility function, noting and correcting any issues
    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical components of the hot mix asphalt facilities. Complete repairs to various operating components as necessary
    • Complete hot mix facility relocations, including tear-down, set-up, and equipment calibration
    • Perform other related duties as required
    Skills and Other Requirements:
    • Computer literacy to operate asphalt plant operating control software
    • Must have experience operating a front-end loader
    • Mechanical knowledge and experience completing repairs and maintenance to various components – motors, bearings, feed/conveyor systems, weigh scales, generators, etc.
    • Experience and capability with welding and oxy/acetylene torches to repair/fabricate metal components is an asset
    • Physically fit individual with the ability to lift, and work in a variety of conditions
    • Working at heights, and confined space entry are an asset
    • Valid Class G Driver's Licence
    • Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
    • Prior experience with asphalt facilities, crushing facilities, and/or heavy equipment is preferred
