Description
Rolmaster Conveyors, a Canadian manufacturing company, requires a permanent full-time
Shipper/Receiver Assistant at our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.


Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm). Overtime is paid after 42 hours. Location is on the bus route.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Loading and unloading of all trucks (includes planning for upcoming shipment dates (for example, have skids made up beforehand if size is known))
  • Incoming and final inspection (check against packing slip)
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all incoming and outgoing paperwork
  • Pack goods to be shipped (includes fabricating skids as required)
  • Reprioritize shipments (based on information from the Plant Supervisor, Plant Manager or delegate)
  • Arrange shipments and coordinate transportation with outside carriers (courier, transport) (may also involve getting freight quotes for customers and Sales)
  • Ensure paperwork is correct (for any issues or missing information, discuss with the appropriate party
  • Plant Supervisor, Plant Manager, Sales Manager)
  • Prepare and process custom documents for international shipments
  • Ensure information is updated in our ERP system (shipment date, size and carrier)
  • Actively participate in improving shipping processes and procedures
  • Affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments
  • Unpack goods received (identify and store product as required)
  • Record shortages and reject damaged goods
  • Maintain internal record keeping system
  • Complete daily forklift inspections
  • Proper housekeeping
  • Must be able to read a tape measure

Required Skills:


  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Shipper/Receiver capacity (or similar)
  • 13 years' experience using Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English (both written and verbal)
  • French is an asset
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and ability to problem solve
  • Past experience in using an ERP system is an asset
  • Required to have a valid forklift license

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push and pull a minimum of 100lbs.
  • Must be able to work proficiently with hands and wrists and be able to grasp objects
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to operate machinery
  • Must provide CSA approved steel toe shoes (measure a min of 8" from the floor to the top side)
  • Must be able to pass mandatory Math, Grammar and Health & Safety testing
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
  • Must have Workers Health and Safety Awareness Certificate (submit with resume)

Rate:
$ $ 20.00/hour (42-hour work week), based on experience and ability
