This position requires a range of diverse skills from human resources, medical billing, to ability to fix basic IT issues.

Sphinx Medical Group has 6 locations that the Operations Manager would be responsible for overseeing.

The Operations Manager would be required for all hiring, terminations, employee development.

Working with the staff in person and over the phone for all 6 sites to ensure the clinics are following policies and procedures and maintaining relationships.

Physicians hiring, including registering with Alberta Health, WCB, Medavie and building and maintaining strong relationship with physicians is a main part of the job.


The Operations Manager will work alongside the Director of Operations, being responsible for building and maintaining a highly functional team comprised of several different disciplines and roles.

This role provides effective management to ensure that the clinics are running effectively and efficiently. Working with the Medical Directors, business development, and finance would be worked on. A team of admin support is available for assistance with tasks.

The Key responsibilities of the Clinic Operations Manager includes but are NOT limited to:

  • Oversees 6 medical clinic administration and support staff to ensure clinical goals, efficiencies and responsibilities are met.
  • Identify the need for new staff and / or for replacing staff. Manage employee relations in accordance with the collected agreements, terms and conditions of employment, HR policies and programs and provincial employment legislature.
  • Recruiting, interviewing and hiring staff for various roles
  • Ensuring new staff orientation and training is effective and appropriate.
  • Plans, assigns and directs work; appraises performance; disciplines employees, and addresses complaints.
  • Scheduling and coordinating of staff and physicians.
  • Able to multitask and decide on best strategies for the company and take time appropriate action in a timely manner. Must have strong organizational multitasking skills.
