Responsibilities:

Assist student in areas of academic, personal, or social development
To help students identify personal goals, strengths, weaknesses, and interests
Holding meaningful and insightful conversations with students, faculty, and parents and mediating in

communication between these groups

Proactively identifying methods for growth, development, and mentorship
Delivery of school counselling programs

Qualifications:

Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
Fluency in both official languages (French & English) written and oral is a requirement
Post baccalaureate in Counselling or working towards completion
Previous experience delivering Counsellor Services within an educational environment is preferred
Special Education Certificate completed would be considered an asset
A minimum of three years successful teaching experience or previous Counselling experience
Ability to use a variety of differentiated instructional strategies
Willingness to work as a team member on various projects
Demonstrated ability to work with adapted and modified curriculum
Demonstrated ability to foster inclusion in a setting with students of varying abilities
Demonstrated ability to work on transition planning for students
Ability to use technology as a teaching tool
Previous experience working in an environment with EAL students and students with Special Needs

As a condition of employment, all new hires must complete a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable
sector search, and child abuse registry check as part of the hiring process.
Salary & benefits for this position will be administered in accordance with the SRSD/SRTA collective bargaining
agreement (CBA).
