Equity, Diversity and Inclusion HR MANAGER

The position will lead and drive organizational anti-oppression, equity and social accountability efforts to promote an organizational culture that is inclusive as well as to promote representation of the community the SEOCHC serves in our employee population, especially in leadership positions.

You will be a change champion to support internal teams as they navigate and implement equity initiatives.


The Manager will also oversee, implement and monitor the Human Resource Policies, Practices and Procedures, while advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

They will also act as an independent, impartial, and confidential resource for staff and leadership to receive guidance and advice about their workplace related concerns, and complaints regarding SEOCHC policies, procedures, and decision-making structures.


This role generally requires:


  • Degree or diploma in a professional discipline relevant to the job function such as Diversity and Inclusion, human resources management, sociology, social work, social justice, business, healthcare or combined equivalent of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of leadership experience with significant accountability for some or all of the following areas: organizational culture, equity, diversity practices and systems, social accountability, change management and human rights.
  • Expert level knowledge of antioppression, equity, diversity and inclusion frameworks including the ability to proactively identify challenges and opportunities related to these areas of expertise to support future planning and strategy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills with ability to gain cooperation and build trust as a means of influencing outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in developing reports, engaging presentations, and briefing notes for council and senior leadership.
  • Project management skills including research, planning, organizing, developing, and participating in and/or leading cross cultural/functional teams.
  • Collaboration and experience in problem solving with a balance of empathy and pragmatism and someone who is a team player and leads by example to build trust and credibility.
  • Commitment to an appreciative inquiry approach, building a learning culture, and striving to help shape a positive, affirmative organizational culture.
  • Experience guiding senior leaders on how to lead through change. An innovative, solutionsfocused approach to assessing current state versus future state.
  • Fluent in English and French, other languages an asset.
  • Preferred Qualifications:_
  • Healthcare sector and/or community services experience is a definite asset in this role.
  • Change Management certification.
  • The Centre offers excellent employee benefits, including the Health Care of Ontario _Pension Plan. _
  • Salary range from $84,302 to $95,786/annum._
