Experienced Pharmacy Assistant - Etobicoke, Canada - Citrus Pharmacy

Description

Citrus Pharmacy is looking to bring on an additional pharmacy assistant to the team. Experience in pharmacy is a strong asset and will weigh in heavily on the hiring decision.

• Be flexible in their schedule to accomodate for staff absenses and stay back when required during busier hours of the day
• Have prior experience as a pharmacy assistant in entering and billing prescriptions accurately to insurance plans and ODB
• Show initiative in making sure the pharmacy runs smoothly and managing the pharmacy assistant staff when necessary
• Provide training to any new staff that are brought on
• Willing to commit to a long term tenure with the pharmacy

A 30 minute paid lunch break is given with flexibility on when to take it, not available on Saturday due to the short shift.

A yearly performance based bonus is provided to employees based on hours worked.


Additional duties include:

• Filling prescriptions
• Monthly expired checks
• Making Tang and ensuring utensils and glassware is cleaned
• Temperature logging every day on open and close
• Answering the phone
• Cashing out patients
• Occasional deliveries may be required in the area
• Filling over the counter stock
• Entering and updating prices for over the counter stock in the POS system
• Making blister packs with accuracy
• Gathering insurance information over the phone
• Arranging and entering deliveries into the online portal
• Triaging phone calls that need to be passed onto a pharmacist vs can be handled by yourself
• Occasional deliveries if needed urgently preference will be given to someone with a car

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Etobicoke, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- pharmacy: 1 year (preferred)
