    About the role

    We're looking for a Director, National Surety Solutions - Quebec, to join our team

    What you'll do here:

  • Implementation of underwriting guidelines and best practices supporting our surety governance framework.
  • Working with large accounts and supporting key broker and client relationships.
  • Collaborate and supporting regional leadership groups and their respective underwriting teams.
  • Implementing risk management initiatives including large exposure monitoring in collaboration with the VP National Surety Solutions.
  • Approve account limits, over line requests, and making recommendations/approvals on larger accounts.
  • Responsible for coordinating portfolio management strategies in the Quebec region.
  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring underwriters and motivating them towards success.
  • Collaborate with other members in the department to achieve shared goals.
  • Conducting performance reviews and career developing discussions.
  • Ensure corporate objectives and policies are being achieved and maintained.
  • What you bring to the table:

  • University degree or college diploma in business, accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant surety experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Superior organization and communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Can make independent decisions within the mandate.
  • Can deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Advanced computer skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Bilingualism (French / English)
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
